Childhood Cancer Campaign
CCC is a program started in 2001 to build awareness of the disease that kills more children than any other. Members provide support for children with cancer and their families, and support research to find a cure. The Rochester Optimist Club supports research by hosting the Optimist Frozen Goose Walk/Run annually.

Optimist Frozen Goose Walk/Run
A WinterFest event held at University Center Rochester. The race consists of a 10k timed run and a 5K fun rum or walk. The participants are asked to seek and collect pledges. The proceeds benefit Mayo Clinic Childhood Cancer Research And Brighter Tomorrows.

DMM District – Dakotas, Minnesota, and Manitoba
One of 51 Optimist International districts. The Rochester Optimist Club is a member of this district.

Optimist International
OI, the international organization located in St Louis, Missouri.

Junior Optimist Octagon International – JOOI
A junior optimist club that helps our youth learn skills such as citizenship, teamwork, communications, self-esteem, and leadership. Rochester has a JOOI club at Century High School.

Hunter Safety Program
One of the longest running programs supported by the Rochester Optimist Club. We offer support through the purchase of materials, working during registration week, and helping on field day. Be sure to talk to Graham Luck about participation.

Optimist International Junior Golf Championship – OIJGC
Each year thousands of young people compete in local and district qualifying tournaments. The top finishers advance to the OIJGC in Florida. Past Optimist junior golf participants include Tiger Woods, Michelle McGann, Phil Mickelson and Justin Leonard. Dick Grassley is the person to talk to in the Rochester club.
